Photos from the exhibition

Archaeological Investigations Ltd. was contacted in the Spring of 2006 by Hereford Museum & Art Gallery and asked to contribute to an exhibition at the museum called “How Hereford came to be” with finds from our recent excavation at the ASDA site.

The objects displayed are therefore some of the earliest finds from Hereford, indicating that there may have been some kind of settlement in prehistoric time on the southern side of the river, where the new ASDA store now is. The exhibits seen in the photo are worked and burnt flints from the Neolithic (Stoneage) and are about 5000 years old. There is also a piece of pottery from the Bronze Age, which is about 3000 years old. This was also found at the ASDA site.
